Alice while at ELS was Interior Project Architect for the City of Berkeley renovation and Interior Space Planning of a six-story building at 1947 Center Street.  The design involved considerations for current and future space needs and to consolidate City Services into a Civic Center.  The four floors of City office space were renovated in four phases over a period of two years.  Some departments include the Finance Customer Service, Parks and Recreation Services, and Health and Human Services, Central Duplication, Public Works Engineering and Facilities Divisions and the Police Review Commission and Office of Transportation.  The final phase was completed in 2005.

The building's nearly 100,000 sf provides more cost-effective office space for 250 City employees and improved access to City services for the public.  1947 Center Street has a high Energy Star performance score and awarded PG&E Savings by Design award.
